Amber Balcaen Makes NASCAR debut at Motor Mile
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada April 15,2016– Third-generation driver Amber Balcaen will get her first taste of NASCAR this weekend when she makes her debut in  NASCAR Whelen All-American Series stepping behind the wheel of the #10 Toyota Racing Late Model, built by three-time NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National Champion Lee Pulliam and Lee Pulliam Performance.
The race will mark Balcaen’s third time on pavement as she comes to Motor Mile from her home in Canada. Amber’s goal is to leave Canada and move to North Carolina to chase her dreams of becoming the next big thing in American stock car racing.
Balcaen began racing in go karts at the age of ten and has an outstanding work ethic after beginning to work on her own cars at ages as young as 11 years old.  In 2014, she became the only Canadian at the annual NASCAR Drive for Diversity combine and was invited to the Bill McAnally NASCAR K&N combine in 2013. Amber is also the first female to win a dirt track championship in Manitoba
Amber will be chasing the track championship at the aforementioned Motor Mile, a track that, prior to this weekend she had never seen. When asked about the great honor of piloting one of Pulliam’s cars, Balcaen said “I am extremely excited for the opportunity to race for Lee Pullman Performance. I have nothing but confidence in this team and their ability to provide me with a championship winning car.”
Balcaen, who is known for her dirt racing endeavors, is not nervous as she embraces the challenge of pavement racing, saying “I have big goals for my first race and hope to be in victory lane at the end of the night. I have confidence that my skills from dirt track racing will transfer over to pavement.”
Balcaen, is very thankful for the opportunity she has in front of her this weekend and thanks her sponsors Winner’s Circle Sports Bar and Grill, Champion Spark Plugs, 1st Phorm, and Kirkey Racing Fabrication. Amber hopes to race the entire season and is currently searching for sponsors and hopes that after a solid run in her debut this weekend she can attract more sponsorship in pursuit of a full season of racing at Motor Mile.
